Will Obama's Kenyan family attend his Inauguration in January?
I hope so. Obama still has his paternal grandmother who is very proud of him and should be there by his side to witness history.
What do you think?

3. Remember his Berlin speech?
When he mentioned Kenya or his family in Kenya and someone from the crowd yelled out in a way that I took to be some kind of Kenyan shout out? (Because of the way he smiled and kinda laughed when he heard it.)

Anyway ..... just imagine it "So help me God!" and THAT cheer rises up from somewhere in the crowd! .... How cool would THAT be!

And it would give the Freepers something to talk about for a couple of days. lol

Well, I actually am addicted to Sun Drop but still .... it's my one vice.

But I am, however, completely devoid of Cheeto Dust lol.

(I prefer Doritos)

4. the video about the austere and simple life of Grandma Obama...
on journeyman pictures site... helped me convert a right winger from the fear mongering of the GOP

She fell in love with Mama Obama... gardening, shucking corn, taking in orphans, going to church, showing off the pictures on her wall of her children and grandchildren... hardly threatening OR "foreign."

I certainly hope she is allowed to come

I had a Kenyan mechanic work on my rig a few months back... his name was Nixon, named for the president that was in office when he was born.

We talked a little about politics... not much...

We just smiled a lot, and he kept saying "God Bless you, sir."

7. Before the election, he asked his grandmother in Kenya if she would come if he was inaugurated
She said that she would. I saw an interview with her after the election, and she said that she would honor her word. Think about what that means for her, has she ever been on an airplane before? She lives in a small house in a village. She will be visiting in the White House, and watching the huge crowds cheering for her grandson. What an experience that is going to be for her, from the things that we take for granted like an airplane flight to the huge crowds of people to being in the White House.

Good for Obama.

like this. Perhaps the font size needs to be adjusted.

11. Think of how brave that is
It's a very brave thing for an old lady to travel to another continent where she doesn't know the language.

10. Most likely. She's not a blood relative, though.
Sarah Obama was the third wife of Obama's paternal grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama. Although not a blood relation, Barack Obama nevertheless calls her "Granny Sarah".

12. It is his Step Paternal Grandmother, i.e., she married Obama's grandfather
but is not Obama's father's mother. :)

But yes, I'm sure that some will be here.
Let us not forget that Obama thanked his "Brothers and Sisters" in his victory speech
as he did in his MN speech once he won the nomination.
That was not by accident.
