I never supported Hillary, but.... |
|
...it is time, well past time, to put the fucking primaries behind us, OK? I never liked Hillary ~~ BUT I am willing to see what she can do and not just get ugly about her being SOS before she does one damn thing.
Look: We have one hell of a mess to clean up thanks to the asshole who was "selected" in 2000 and who, thank gawd, will be leaving 1600 Penn Ave in Jan 2009.
So....if Obama wants Hillary and I don't like Hillary, then I need to put that dislike away and trust him. He has good instincts and has succeeded in EVERYTHING he has ever taken on. So why should his instincts fail him all of a sudden?
Can we just get behind him? He has a ton of ugly work to do ~~ let's send positive, supporting vibes, OK?
Just my 2-cents... :hi:

I didn't support her during the primaries either, but absolutely agreed with all the reasons Obama cited for picking her. She's a helluva worker and is a lot better team player than many, many other dems. Looking forward to seeing them all in action come January.

...IMO, he has great instincts and organization skills like we have never seen before. If he wants her as SOS, then he has a good reason.

I think he has proven himself to be extraordinary is so many ways. so if he chose Hillary, that is fine by me. I respect him so much more than I distrust her.

Respect him more than distrust her! Exactly my feelings.
If he wants her, IMO, he knows what he is doing.
Edit for typo.

11. Totally agree. I'm not a fan of Hillary, but I trust Obama's instincts and intellect. |
|
Not following blindly, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

16. Those here who think they are smarter than Obama really intrigue me |
|
I've been reading this board for years. I doubt very much that anyone who spends any significant amount of time on D freakin' U can touch Obama's IQ with a 50 point pole.

17. The man is NOT smart, IMO... |
|
...he is BRILLIANT.
The way he organizes and attacks problems and situations to get to a certain goal?
He fucking amazes me.
So...if he has someone in mind for a specific reason ~~ who the hell am I to argue with the kind of success he has had?

18. She's the Democratic SoS so yes, let's lay off her and see how she handles the job. |
|
I had mixed feelings about the appointment, didn't quite see her in the role. But she's smart and she will adapt quickly.
And her biggest liability in politics, namely Bill Clinton, will be her greatest asset as SoS. Bill Clinton is loved around the world.
In any case, it's Obama's call and he's the one who is going to have to work with her. They seem to be getting along quite well and they just may have developed a common vision after everything they went through during the election.
So let's see where this takes us. It might well turn out to be a smashing success.

I cannot see downing her BEFORE she even starts the job.
