I knew it was probably coming, but I had hoped I could wish it away. What a fucking light weight.

"I think it's COOL that Sarah Palin took a flight while in labor!" Righhhht, Stretch. And there should have been a disclaimer under him on the screen during the financial crisis (like there should be with Mitch) due to his wife's former job.

Edited on Mon Dec-01-08 06:58 PM by BrklynLiberal
The man with him looks very familiar, but I cannot come up with name. Could you provide it?

EDIT: Lon Chaney Jr. I love Google.
Also found that picture is from Hawkeye and the Last of the Mohicans. That John Hart is the same as the one who
played the Lone Ranger for 2 seasons.

Thanks for the inspiration to check it out..

51. Yep. Huge fan of John Hart as Hawkeye. Great show.
I have some DVDs. Yes, the language of the Indians was stilted, but it was extraordinary in its day for its social awareness. Just one season, and I was a small kid, but I never forgot the impact of that show. John Hart is still alive, at about 90.

Of course, much as I love John Hart, there was only one Lone Ranger. And his name was Clayton Moore.

After all, MSNBC made it a point to convert his campaign-oriented show to one that covered the Presidency, did they not?

You can call Tim Russert many things. But David Gregory isn't up to Russert's caliber. That's saying a lot.

It is a travesty that he has been picked to helm the show.

about the press and their role in the runup to Iraq? He got really defensive and all "We did our jobs! The public supported it!" Fuck you, Stretch. My friend went to a speaking engagement that he had recently...she likes him, but she said that he did get really defensive again when someone asked about the press and their role leading up to the war in Iraq. I mean, Russert was used as a tool too, but I was able to watch MTP with Russert at least. Gregory is unwatchable.

Gregory would be atroscious as moderator on MTP.

Much better picks would have been:

Ifill
O'Donnell
Couric
Koppel

On about the same level would have been:

Mitchell
Todd

Note: I actually like Todd most of the time, but I think his interviewing ability wouldn't be that great. Mitchell is a snob.

78. nbc is denying it
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/12/01/david-gregory-to-moderate_n_147540.html

Update: NBC responded to Politico regarding this report, saying," I don't know where they are getting this. We have nothing to announce." Gregory's agent, when contacted by the New York Observer said he could neither confirm nor deny the report.

80. damn it! Mike Allen of Politico is now reporting it too.
I was hoping that the Huffington Post had somehow gotten it wrong. They won't officially announce it yet, but I guess this is gonna happen. Predictable, though they don't rule out a "supporting cast", whatever that means.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/michaelcalde...moderator_.html

"From Allen :The plan to anoint Gregory is not final but will be as soon as today, the executives said. NBC spokespeople refused to comment, saying the network would make the announcement.

The decision was made by Jeff Zucker, president and chief executive officer of NBC Universal, and Steve Capus, president of NBC News. Allen also reports that Betsy Fischer will remain executive producer, and that "executives provided elliptical information that did not either raise or preclude the possibility that a supporting cast could be named along with Gregory."

81. Andrea Mitchell
I would have liked to have seen Andrea Mitchell be the new moderator. However, David Gregory does have more character. Character is what drives people to watch many of these shows. On the other hand Wolf Blitzer wouldn't have character if Bugs Bunny sat on his lap. So, that leads me back to wanting Andrea Mitchell.
