Obama's Press Conferences - Is He Actually Too Accessible?
The current MSM myth portray Obama as relatively inaccessible to the press. However, George Bush conducted about 18 press conferences in his first term in office. In contrast, Obama has conducted about 4 press conferences and 3 interviews (60 minutes, Baba WaWa, and Meet the Press) in his first month since being elected. So, contrary to the notion that Obama is keeping the MSM at arms length, a more reasonable argument could be made that Obama is several times more accessible than Bush.

1. Having press conferences works to his advantage right now.
They serve a purpose and he is using them to showcase the steps made during his transition. I expect that will change once he takes office, but then again, maybe not. There is something to be said for using transparency and communication as a tool to keep people's support.

3. Why should our PRESIDENT be inaccessible?
He is our leader (and the leader of the free world), isn't he? How is it possible that being "too accessible" is a problem? Should we be spending more time seeing what Sarah Palin is up to right now?
