People need to go to jail over this economic crisis
They need to go to jail for a very long time.

I think that should be the new Attorney General's first priority...after having the justice department purged of all Bush appointees.

Bad management isn't really an excuse to jail someone.

3. Couldn't agree more.
From the bankers that falsified loan papers, to the guys on Wall Street, they should be investigated, and if they did something illegal they need to go to jail! That includes the Bush administration and all those who were warned about the problem and did nothing. They let this happen and they need to be held responsible for what they did.

I think that if something isn't done, it will happen again, maybe not the same kind of "scam", but another that will cause the same kind of problems. Banks and financial groups need to be regulated and the regulations need to be enforced so we don't go down this path again. If those responsible for what happened this time are punished, it would send a message that this will not be tolerated, and those who want to break the laws will be held accountable.

8. The House and Senate have over-site responsibility
They want to have total control, but have no clue as to the root cause of the problem or the resolution. All they know is throw money at a problem, then expect the taxpayer to pay for their lack of their ability to govern. There are a few very smart individuals that govern our lives, but as a group they have the intelligence of a pet rock.
I quit voting for one party 24 years ago, now I vote for the individual I think will do the best for the country as a whole. Bush was not a good President, however I hold the House and Senate equally if not more responsible for our present problems.
The present toxic political climate will pose a difficult four to eight years. I hope OB can succeed in getting this country back together.

9. Darn right they need to do some time and make restitution
as much as possible, too. Start at the bottom with the mortgage brokers who signed up unqualified buyers and doctored up their application forms.
