On Cnn, per Sanchez! :woohoo:

Credit the resolve of these Workers, and OBama's willingness to use his large microphone to support them. It appears that the two actions combined spoke volumes to the corporate entities! :patriot:

12. I was worried Blago's crap was going to distract from their plight and get in the way.
I'm glad it didn't. :)

18. Initially, I felt that as well.......
That the news story would disappear.

Perhaps BOFA realized that the damage to them had already been done.

After all, those workers are taxpayers and therefore were part and parcel of taxpayers who bailed out the Finance industries.

7. A sign of things to come?
If taxpayers can bail out the banks, then the banks better fucking make sure it helps the taxpayers. period.

11. Also, Jan Schakowsky on with Sanchez now just mentioned the Impeachment word.....
appears that this is where the Illinois Legislature is moving to.

Blago will probably resign. I don't believe that he's up for this.

Calling my President Elect a Motherfucker will not buy much sympathy in Illinois, I don't think.

16. I'm really proud of these workers
I actually expected this. Once they started putting all the blame on BofA they had to do it.

It shows that when you are right, you have to stand up for yourself. I'm extremely proud of these workers.

22. Not neccessarily. This move by BofA was to assist the workers,
Edited on Tue Dec-09-08 04:31 PM by FrenchieCat
due to then negative PR, not to assist the company so much.

23. I called Bank of America yesterday and told them
as a stockholder of their company I was embarrassed by the news and to please resolve this matter in a timely manner.

No shit - I am a stockholder.
I used to work there, I'm sorry to say, and what's left of my pension is wrapped up in their stock.

I am so happy by the outcome of this.

Let this be a lesson to all corporations and the banks that fund them.

Americans are mad as hell, and we are not going to take it anymore.

24. Thanks for this wonderful news!
What's going to happen to this shuttered factory? What good is a shuttered factory to anybody? BoA should cough up some of those billions in bailout money to re-tool this factory for some kind of product everybody needs, housing slump or not--like a solar window or a solar widget to attach to a window to heat/cool homes and buildings free of charge from Mr. Sun. Let the workers run the factory. How much could it take to finance such a co-op? A drop in the bailout bucket--and it would be the start of something big, something great, and something forward-looking to rescue the economy.

It's clear that the business of America is WORKERS! --to re-write a phrase. The people who make things. The people who create things. The people who know what works. The people who just want an honest living and decent life and the satisfaction of a job well done. Goddammit, it's so obvious! Look what the parasites have done, because they don't know how anything really works--just how to squeeze every last dime out of other people, destroy companies and crash the economy.

Give the WORKERS a chance! We'll put this country and its economy back together, pronto. Where do these workers go now? Onto the unemployment rolls--a drain on an bankrupt system. They should be WORKING. They WANT to be working. Let them work!

That's a sign of hope in this rather dreary society where a lot of people are too apathetic and complacent. :(

31. This is an example
This is an example of why I take heart in an Obama Administration despite my disappointment over a few of his Cabinet appointments. He publicly supported the workers in this strike. No other president in my memory has EVER come down on the side of the workers. Bill Clinton never would have done this.

I guess Obama is a little more to the left than some of the "centrists" would like to admit.
Salute to a fine American, our new President-to-be!
