2. That was my first guess yesterday
Had the money connections and had the desire to be in the seat bad enough. Unless they charge him he'll still get re-elected. He won his last race with something like 88% of the vote.

4. Wait, so you're saying MSNBC is wrong then?
It's not smearing if it's true.

6. The tone of Andrea and now Contessa speaks volumes. JJJ just released
a statement rejecting Blago's actions

9. haven't been watching Contessa too much.
but I don't think Andrea was that bad....EJ Dionne and Pete Williams were explicit in stating that this is just going on what Bago says, and there is nothing on tape of Jackson or the person who was allegedly perceived to be speaking about him. A CQ reporter just said that it's too early to tell if Jackson did anything wrong, since we are just going on what Bago says and we don't know what Jackson's side of the story is (in response to Contessa's question).

7. Yeah because media is always right
:eyes:

JJJ is not on tape doing anything. He's in the same position as anyone else, yes, including Rahm Emanuel, who, according to the complaint, was in talks with the governor's office.

10. I've read your other 100 posts defending JJJ. Don't need to restate them.
I have no idea what the situation is (in terms of whether MSNBC has new information or something), and just wanted to understand what the poster meant. That's all.

11. I'll restate them if I chose to. You made a statement, I replied.
This is what people do on a message board. And if you think reminding people of certain facts is defending a particular person, then so be it. It seems like people here are quick to believe anything they see on the tv without even knowing what the facts are.

13. /sigh
My question wasn't directed at you. Restate your defense all you want, it doesn't matter to me one way or another. Wait, what's that? I think there's a thread somewhere on this very message board missing your input..

8. Zactly! And to use leverage
for getting tasty favors from other "candidates"..that's my best guess.

I also am projecting Jesse Jackson Jr being vindicated.

17. Yep. Pretending he has another "buyer" just like a con man would.
Just like auction houses sometimes have plants in the audience to get bidding going.

12. the same way ABC knows.....
See....

"federal law enforcement sources tell ABC News."

But you're right. Just because Blago SAYS Jesse wanted to pay doesn't make it true.

15. eh, they would connect Obama to someone who babysat him once if they could
I could care less what "they" will try to do, if it wasn't this, it would be something else.
