Hey Media reading this, did you forget that Obama was called MOTHERFUCKER by the GOV?
or Did YOU forget?

I ask because of the discussion I'm am listening to on the Television,
and because of the below fucked up poll.

The Media's tact this morning appears to be questioning Obama as though he may be guilty of something. You don't seem to recall that he was the one called a MOTHERFUCKER by the Governor, in particular because the Obama camp were refusing to pay to play.

This is the fucked up media poll...:

http://www.polls.newsvine.com/_question/2008/12/10/2197979-do-you-think-the-charges-against-gov-blagojevich-will-hurt-president-elect-obamas-administration

How does question number one and question number three make sense to be in the same poll?

They don't.

Current results on the questions as follows:
62.1% - No; there is no evidence that Obama was involved in the alleged corruption

12.1% - Possibly; he began his career in the city and his inner circle is dominated by Chicago veterans

21.6% - Yes; I'd be surprised if there hadn't been communication about the Senate seat between the two sides

4.2% - I'm not sure yet

1. Here's the thing about association, though
It neither proves nor disproves anything. It can only be used as a guideline. Obama is good man, in my opinion. I believe he will make a fine president.

However, it does no good to ignore the fact his political career was incubated in one of the most corrupt political systems in America. I say system, regardless of party, because Republicans who have gained power in Illinois proved guilty of precisely the same things Blagojevich is now accused of doing. My state is set up for corruption, nepotism, pay for play favoritism, and a whole host of unethical and potentially criminal behavior that stretches across decades, parties, and individuals.

It should say something to everyone when Illinois DUers are almost unanimously cheering Blagojevich's fall with many openly hoping that Mayor Daley will be next. These are solid progressive and liberal posters who know our state's system is rotten through and through.

People are going to question how Obama came through that system, his associations, what he went along with and what he did not. It is almost unheard of in Illinois for people to rise to the top without shady ties, backroom deals, personal and familial political relationships, and "pay for play" schemes fueling rising careers. That's how this state works. It sucks, we've known about it forever, it seems like no matter who we elect it continues, and pretty much everyone I know who lives here is completely exhausted with it.

In this instance, Obama acquitted himself well. I believe once he got a whiff of the blatant criminality of Blagojevich in this Senate appointment, he moved as far and as fast from the situation as humanly possible. I can only imagine his reaction once his transition team let him know what was going down. It probably ran something along the lines of "Are you fucking kidding me?"

That said, a light has been shined onto Illinois politics (hey, better now than before the election, no?) It is perfectly natural and normal to put the state's system under scrutiny - including Obama's participation in it.

I think he'll come out just fine. If Blagojevich's shady dealings and associations are elephant-sized, Obama's barely register bunny rabbit status. Which is no small feat in this city and state. But it's perfectly fair and proper for the media to see one of the largest political clusterfucks on the state-level and wonder how our future President fit into it. I have confidence it won't even make a dent in him.

Bitching about it does us no good. The man is one of the politically savvy of our time. I'm pretty sure he's got this.

JMO.

2. Obama doesn't only work with synchophants, Hillary has
had some harsh things to say about him. That doesn't mean that there is any connection, but it does help to remember that Obama is not swayed by name calling. See Jesse Jackson Sr.
