I've been pretty happy with the stated goals put forth on the transition site, which is saying something given Obama's gleeful "I get into trouble with teachers"* stuff. That said, given that paraphrased quote and the floating of Joel Klein's name, I'd be interested to know where y'all think we're going with all this. And yes, I've long since given up on the idea that NCLB will be repealed.

I'm not seeing any lights at the end of any tunnels. Other than, perhaps, a boost in repairs, upgrades, and new buildings as part of his plan to rebuild infrastructure.
I'm hearing a lot of buzz about the secretary of education; there are some worrisome names mentioned frequently. I hope he doesn't go that direction.
Arne Duncan is at the top of the most-watched list, anyway, and he drains all the hope right out of me.
Share what you've read that sounds good; I need to hear something positive.
