6. Gay equality.
I'm no fan of Lieberman either, but he has a pretty solidly liberal voting record. He's certainly not a reactionary like Miller.

9. the environment also
lieberman has a pretty good record on the environment. zell doesn't have a good record and he doesn't care about the issue at all.

10. Thanks everyone!
Now I won't be so tough on Joe, even though I think he is doing foolish things in this campaign.

12. You're kidding right?
Zell Miller voted for Bush's tax cuts. Lieberman voted against them.

Zell Miller voted to end the filibusters of Bush's judicial nominees. Lieberman voted to maintain the filibusters.

Zell Miller gave a keynote address at an NRA conventrion. Lieberman is a staunch supporter of gun control.

Lieberman is strongly pro-choice and pro-gay rights. To my knowledge, Miller is neither.

You may want to spend a few minutes over at Project Vote Smart's web site and compare the voting records and interest group ratings for Miller and Lieberman. You'd see that they are radically different.

The dirty little secret that nobody around here wants to acknowledge is that Lieberman's voting record is pretty liberal. Yes, he's a foreign policy hawk, and he pays lip service to values and business. But his actual voting record on social and economic policy is liberal. The differences between Lieberman and his more outspokenly liberal Democratic colleagues are far smaller than the differences between Lieberman and the Senate Republicans.
