Biden Second Puppy Coming From Pound
Joe Biden's wife Jill gave him a German Shepherd puppy as a post-election present. The Vice President-elect loves the breed, but he took some heat for his choice from animal rights activists who wish he had chosen a dog from a shelter. Now Biden tells ABC News' George Stephanopoulos that he's getting a second dog, and this one will come from the pound.

"I've had German Shepherds since I was a kid and I've actually trained them and shown them in the past," Biden said. "So I wanted a German Shepherd and we're going to get a pound dog, which my wife wants, that is hopefully a Golden ."

7. OMG
That is the funnest thing I have seen all day!

Good thing that dog is a sleek short haired fellow. Taylor made for snow swimming! I'm buried under a blanket of snow, and ice right now, and our very long, very curly haired dog comes in from the yard one solid snow ball!

23. Yes he drips,
but first I have to pull off all the snow balls that mat to her coat. Her coat is so think, and curly it acts like velcro. Then I can try to dry her off, but by that time she has usually jumped on the bed to roll dry.

But I do love her, and all funny, happy dogs. They do their jobs of making people smile.

21. I was thinking exactly the same thing. Loved watching him, but whew,
I'd hate to have to exercise all that energy out of him every single day, year after year after years. Yikes is right!

The adult dog can help teach the puppy some manners.

19. I think "pound" might include rescue groups.....
.....like the "Goldie Rescue of Deleware" or something like that.

And now that we have the dog situation settled. Off I go to start a new thread....

16. I hope he uses this as a teaching opportunity
They didn't get that dog from a reputable breeder - it came from a puppy mill.
