All I ever wished for was a Democratic president, with progressive ideals....
who has a progressive cabinet, surrounds himself with progressives, and moves this country ONCE AGAIN AFTER DECADES OF RIGHT WING FASCISM, in a progressive direction.

Am I asking for too f*cking much?

4. No, you are not asking for too much,
as long as you are willing to wait for just a moment longer.....at least.

After 8 years and then some...I know it's not an easy proposition.

5. Given the dismal primary numbers of Dennis Kucinich? Way too fucking much.

If you want a rigid, inflexible left-wing ideologue, Barack Obama was not, is not, and has never been your candidate.

If you want a candidate who will surround himself with lefty yes-men, Barack Obama was not, is not, and has never been your candidate.

If you want a candidate who will govern to the base at the expense of everyone else, Barack Obama was not, is not, and has never been your candidate.

9. "lefty ideologues... lefty yes-men" Anything else you care to say about the left wing movement?
Edited on Fri Dec-19-08 08:28 PM by Sarah Ibarruri
And the alternative to the left wing movement is?

As for Obama, if what this man plans to do is CONTINUE to incorporate Bushist ideology, I feel I've been had.

13.  The alternative to ideological fanaticism, on the left or on the right, is pragmatism.
Obama ran as a pragmatist. The Audacity of Hope was a book about smarter, more pragmatic government, not an ideological firebomb. Obama is not an ideologue, and he never claimed to be, nor did he ever claim that he would surround himself with liberal ideologues.

Obama is as far from Bush as any President could possibly be. What you're suggesting is not a break from Bush; what you're suggesting is a left-wing version of Bush.

14. It's an awesome idea......
... dont get me wrong. I'm just not convinced it's possible. I think that if the ship tries to sail TOO far in either direction, those it leaves behind on the shore will attack it, mutiny and force it back the other way.

That's what seems to happen anyway.

I'm sorry. I've always been a glass empty kinda gal.
