A rant on tonight's NBC nightly news segment: Chuckie Todd was saying |
|
that Obama and his transition team's discussions (not having ANYTHING to do with a "quid pro quo" arrangement mind you) with Blagojevich about possible successors to his Senate seat conflicts with Obama's campaign of "change" WTF?!!!!! Oh, and Obama is reportedly keeping a "low profile" on his vacation in Hawaii (what's he hiding from by keeping a "low profile"????). *GASP* And Richardson is apparently under investigation by a federal grand jury for allegedly giving out to contractors who donated to his PACs.
Geez!!!! Where TF where these organizations' peckers when the Bush (mis-)administration sued to stop (legally permissible) vote-counting in 2000, issued legal opinions supporting their use of illegal detention and torture policies, "fixing the facts" around the goal of invading/occupying/exploiting Iraq and.......................................................................................................?????!!!
I f*****ing hate the corporate whore network media!!!!!!! If I didn't like my new widescreen LCD TV I'd have thrown it through the window by now (although OTOH it's not really the TV's fault)!!!!
:argh:
Sorry. Thanks for letting me rant for a couple of minutes.

2. ABC News was pretty silly too |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-23-08 07:46 PM by ErinBerin84
it opened with "Barack Obama...questioned by the FBI"...and the segment started with "It's unusual for a president elect to be questioned by the FBI." and ended with "And....even though Obama CLAIMED that he didn't try to influence the governors decision at all...RAHM SENT A LIST!" It was stupid.

Since he and his staff have been QUESTIONED by the FBI it should naturally be assumed, of course, that him and/or somebody on his team must've done something.......wrong, illegal, etc.
:silly:
Since when is being questioned by authorities when a crime is suspected of having been committed shocking or newsworthy?
:wtf:
Where the hell was the corporate media's supposed "shock" when relatives of OBL (with the support and cooperation of the Bush (mis-)administration) were flown out the country in the days following 9/11 without being QUESTIONED and when the information that could've potentially been obtained from such QUESTIONING might've helped us track down and apprehend OBL?
As far as I'm concerned, the ONLY things Obama appears to be "guilty" of are as follows:
1.)Coming from the same state as Rod Blagojevich. 2.)Leaving behind a Senate seat that needed to be filled by Blagojevich. 3.)Him and/or his staff making some friendly suggestions about possible replacements for said Senate seat (which is NOT illegal AFAIK UNLESS they promised something in return. Until somebody credible reports that Obama or somebody on his team DID in fact promise Blagojevich something other than "appreciation", this entire thing is a complete NON-STORY STORY in regards to Obama et. al)
So, in the spirit of Bill Maher, here's a "new rule" I guess we'll all have to get used to for the next few years: If you know somebody who (may have) committed a crime (or actually committed a crime) or if you're ever questioned by the authorities about anything, you MUST be guilty or "under suspicion" of some kind of illegal or unethical conduct as well. At least, of course, if you're a Democrat. :eyes:
The next few years are going to be soooooooooooooo Long. *sigh*

Guess they feel good about the publicity over Palin's disastrous interviews... they've figured out that better ratings and better journalism come from asking hard questions of wingnuts, not anti-Obama "gotcha" BS. After all, most Americans want President-Elect Obama to succeed and more importantly, most Americans like him.

15. I have been "onto" ABC for some time-- |

There was this one particular Charlie Gibson interview with W that was absolutely nauseating, and that's when I switched him off. Then that debate with Stephy--still haven't gotten over that.
I turned away from NBC nightly news because of their generally shrill tone. Plus I already watch MSNBC for Olbermann so why duplicate what I'm already watching. I think they have gone easy on the current administration.
CBS seems to have integrity. I watched all through the fall election season, including, of course the Palin interviews and found them to be refreshing. They were good before the Palin interviews.
