3. Great answer! But is Iraq like when USSR invaded Afghanistan?
I think Maher's is a good, light response.

5. I think Maher's response was rather flippant
and that the more Americans see the parellels and understand history is important the better. I also think that is why the Kerry campaign has been emphasizing Vietnam.

We all understand the famous quote about history repeating but does the general public? No. They don't have the time and they don't have the will.

Maher was right when he said that the Iraqi resistance understood that the war really started after "shock and awe". Insurgents, historically, have had a great deal of success against their invaders.

7. Maher's the man
If CNBC cared about ratings they'd have him instead of Miller.

8. Maher belongs on HBO
While it is basically the same show as Comedy Central/ABC with less time spent with the panel, HBO is where it needs to be. Maher going to CNBC from HBO would be like...Miller going from HBO to CNBC. It would suck whatever life was in him out completely. F Miller. I don't think Maher could sink to the Miller lows, but it would still suck.

9. HBO's great n all, but the show deserves far more viewers
Miller's not even close to funny, ever. I'd rather have a slightly toned down show with CNBC's viewership than a great show on HBO. Plus I think he's improved since Politically Incorrect.

10. Does CNBC really have more viewers than HBO?
More people might have it on their systems since it is usually free, but HBO actually gets ratings. Sunday nights they usually beat the networks.
