Hoekstra: Easier working with Obama team, than Congressional Dems

(...)

Hoekstra said he is writing an op/ed piece that in part states his support of Panettas appointment and now the incoming Obama administration is trying to help get that piece placed.

Hoekstra said he didnt know if Emanuel was blowing smoke about taking into consideration what he had told him previously, adding what Im finding from the Obama transition team is a genuine outreach that should be part of the process.

Then come to Capitol Hill and Nancy Pelosi on the House side and Harry Reid on the Senate side are making it as partisan as you can. Theres no outreach from Pelosi, and the Democrats on Capitol Hill arent even giving a hint of bipartisanship.

He said they have instituted new rules for the Democratically controlled Congress that began this week that further reduce the chance for the minority party the Republicans to have input on legislation.

On the Intelligence committee, the new rules change the ratio of membership from 11 for the majority party and 10 for the minority party to a 13-8 split.

Pelosi has sent a clear signal, he said. Democrats are in charge and were going to run it the way we want.

1. 13-8 seems fair
It's 61% which is 2% more than what the Dems control.
