My report cards for Obama, Congress and the rest of the Beltway gang during this weird interregnum. |
|
Obama C-, he loses points for picking mostly the same crew that created the mess, throwing all liberals under the bus, and for behaving as though the repukes *won* the election. He gets points for choosing competent people and for being more proactive than any President Elect has ever had to be. I'm not surprised--I knew he was a corporate "free market" ideologue, but my lack of astonishment does not improve my assessment.
Senate F, they don't do anything useful except protect their own privilege; it is time to eliminate the body as currently defined and replace it with something that is not such a "house of lords."
House D, they haven't done much of anything, which given their propensity for making things worse, is an improvement.
Lobbyists A+, they moved right from the bush cabal to the Obama staff and cabinet without batting an eyelash.
The corporate media F, only Olbermann and Maddow (with assists from Stewart and Colbert) keep me from actively campaigning for expulsion, rather than a mere failing grade, for this gang of vermin.
The outgoing bush cabal 25 to life. 'Nuf said.

5. It is far from the first and won't be the last time |
|
that 82% (or more) of the country disagreed with me.
(Although that number for Obama has come down this week.)
The public grades on a curve. I don't.

11. I grade a little differently. |
|
I give the first 3 on your list "F."
I concur on the lobbyists, but abstain from grading the media, since I don't give them a voice. Don't watch, don't listen. Value their comments and reports less than the stuff I shovel out of the barn, since at least that stuff is good for the garden.
The Bush cabal? Prosecute, sentence, put them away.
