3. Is this "likely voters" or "registered voters" -- what is the sampling
breakdown -- how many Dems versus Repubs were sampled?

Who conducted the poll?

When was it conducted?

I think I would ask questions about the polling before I would lose faith in the American people.

...why don't you provide a source? Where's the URL link? Where did you get this information? Are you trying to discourage Democratic voters?

12. Bush will be defeated big-time. The voter turn-out will be huge.
And I disagree, the majority of Americans are not idiots. The majority of Americans just need to get with it and VOTE.

13. 29 posts eh?
You're on post probation. You can't post negative stuff about democrats until you've posted at least 100 positive (not snarkily positive, but absolutely positive) posts about democrats. After 100 positive posts, their content will be judged by the DU FreepWatch Board, and you will be issued a license to post completely freely and without restraint.

18. Oh, I disagree ...
Even you ole' staid 1000+ folks are not above scrutiny. Many freepers give key advice to "post like hell" in the Lounge until one reaches the coveted 1000 mark. Then "lock and load" with subtle Rovian talking points. If anyone challenges you exclaim, "Look at my post count dear fellow Democrats ... I'm one of you!" NOT! <snicker>

Freepers suck at covert msg board Net OPS because they can't help bragging about their exploits. :P

I don't like people judging others because of low counts.
I don't post much, because I want it to be smart, and I feel self concious, on the other hand, I am the secretary of my COunty Democratic Party. So, what gives?

6. Detail
4 point lead in WI.
1 point each in FL and PA...insignificant.
The big lead in OH:
"More good news for Bush is the Strategic Vision (R) poll in Ohio. They have Bush ahead 52% to 40%. However, the Rasmussen 7-day tracking poll has Ohio as an exact tie at 47% each. To paraphrase Shakespeare: Something is rotten in the state of Ohio."

In other words...just keep working.

Please read the site before everyone gets crazy. The Ohio poll is done by a Repug polling firm - everything else is MOE.

8. Strategic Vision and Rasmussen polls. Don't freak.
Rasmussen (PA, FL) is Republican with a little (r).
Strategic Vision (OH) is Republican with a BIG (R).

And Gallup (WI)? Well, don't get me started on Gallup.

10. The fairy tale convention is over and shrub's negatives will skyrocket
Looks to me that shrub is having a bad 2 weeks with AWOL and Kitty Kelly and Iraq getting the headlines plus Kerry coming out swinging at last. Hopefully the tide will turn back quickly before too many early votes are cast for the fraud in chief.

22. The media shills are showing polls where the chimp leads...BOGUS polls,
mind you, to set up the election to be stolen with Electronic Voting Machines. If the sheeple see polls that say the chimp is winning or "close" a stolen election will not so so obvious.....no one will be the wiser. Who would question a chimp victory when the polls said he was winning? HELL! Don't forget what happened in Nebraska and Georgia. REMEMBER??? Hagel and Chambliss put the Electronic Voting Machines to good use.

<snip>
Back when Hagel first ran there for the U.S. Senate in 1996, his company's computer-controlled voting machines showed he'd won stunning upsets in both the primaries and the general election. The Washington Post (1/13/1997) said Hagel's "Senate victory against an incumbent Democratic governor was the major Republican upset in the November election." According to Bev Harris of www.blackboxvoting.com, Hagel won virtually every demographic group, including many largely Black communities that had never before voted Republican. Hagel was the first Republican in 24 years to win a Senate seat in Nebraska.

Six years later Hagel ran again, this time against Democrat Charlie Matulka in 2002, and won in a landslide. As his hagel.senate.gov website says, Hagel "was re-elected to his second term in the United States Senate on November 5, 2002 with 83% of the vote. That represents the biggest political victory in the history of Nebraska."

What Hagel's website fails to disclose is that about 80 percent of those votes were counted by computer-controlled voting machines put in place by the company affiliated with Hagel. Built by that company. Programmed by that company. <snip>

<snip>
In Georgia, Democratic incumbent and war-hero Max Cleland was defeated by Saxby Chambliss, who'd avoided service in Vietnam with a "medical deferment" but ran his campaign on the theme that he was more patriotic than Cleland. While many in Georgia expected a big win by Cleland, the computerized voting machines said that Chambliss had won.
<snip>

http://www.commondreams.org/views03/0131-01.htm

It's all a set up for November. Mark my word.

27. Good Lord, you need to switch to decaf!
Just yesterday, electoral-vote had Kerry at 269 and Bush at 233 with Florida a tie and Kerry slightly ahead in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. See http://www.electoral-vote.com/sep/sep13.html. If you cannot appreciate the fact that the polls will fluctuate from now until November 2, you ought to stop reading them for your own good. Moreover, when the polls stop bouncing back and forth and one candidate takes a commanding lead, there is often a backlash like "buyer's remorse" and the media tend to increase scrutiny of the leader (just ask Dean about this effect).

29. State polls lag, we weren't really ahead in these states last week
If Bush has been legitimately ahead nationally by several points since the convention, he is naturally leading in toss-up battleground states like these. Likewise, when/if Kerry regains the national edge things will swing our way.

None of those four states figure to differ from the national popular vote margin by more than 3-4%, and some will no doubt be less than 1% away. These are not independent events. The most important number by far is the national preference, which will inevitably determine these swing states and many others.
