How to progress from a simpleton to a complicated man and not feel the shock?
You can't.

Bush who never listened to his critics, surprised us little when he kept going from dumb to dumber.
Just when you couldn't believe that he could be any worse than he was, he did something that made it known that he had no bound in his stupidity, callousness and lack of manners and thoughtfulness.

Obama will be the exact reverse, IMO. He will surprise us in a good way....going from Smart to Smartest. Just when you won't believe that he could get any better than he is, he will do something that will make it known that there is no bound to his intelligence, his empathy, and his willing to listen.

Mark my word, the contrast in these back to back Presidents, 43 and 44 will be noted for years to come.

I'm preparing, understanding that after 8 years of torture, I'm gonna feel like every day is a day at the spa.

I am so looking forward to the next 8 years of progress and pleasant surprises, I cannot honestly wait.

This must be what "hope" feels like.

1. I remember during the primaries
and the general when we were hoping and imagining what it would be like for an Obama Presidency and here we almost are!

Unreal but it's happening:D:fistbump:

2. Obama winning the presidency is the only highlight of 2008 for me
outside of my family being healthy etc. It's has been really difficult for those of us who have truly felt the pain of the last eight years. We're dealing with unemployment for me, a new job in a new state for my husband (thank God) at less pay, my savings cut in half, crying when my son's student loan was rejected due to his parents credit rating taking a dive, most of my friends back in Michigan are truly suffering.

I feel hopeful for 2009, even though it may not get a lot better, at least with Obama I can feel good about the direction the country will eventually go in.

Things will be better for my children.....I'm sure of it.

3. It's so important that he won for
reasons you mention and for the entire Planet to have Hope.

5. You know they hated that the world celebrated when Obama won....
that should have sent a strong message to them! They fucked up the country!
