Freepers Assess The WhistleStop Tour - Excellent Reading!
This should be an eye-opener to those of you who say we shouldn't "inject" race into this.

1. I can understand a Freeper picking the bad photos of Obama, but this photo choice pissed me off....
Edited on Sat Jan-17-09 06:07 PM by RollWithIt

He put it last, a little black girl up in a tree. He had hundreds of photos to choose from and he picked that one. Man, some of these psychos just can't help themselves. Honestly, a select few over there continue to paint the Republican Party in a very bad light. It's sad considering we only have two in this country and our country works best when there is at least some agreement in the middle. The Far Right makes the Far Left look like Heaven on Earth even though the Far Left has its many faults.

Freepers are such losers and haters. But they don't bother me anymore. I feel more sorry for them than anything else because they're woefully ignorant and hateful. I sure would hate to be such a racist loser as to make fun children, among other things.

11. What's wrong with that photo.
I think it's absolutely wonderful that our children have a President they can look up to, and one that they're so excited about that they're willing to climb trees just to get a glimpse of him.

How did the poster editorialize it?

12. It isn't the photo itself, it's the choice of that photo by the freeper...
The Freeper chose it only because it was two black children up in a tree. Tree=hanging. And I think he looked at the leaves around and thought about a cage. It's more a choice of the photo over hundreds of others.

31. Lynching? Please. She Looks More Like One Of Those Dangly Easter Egg Thingies
Yes, Freepers are assholes, but I find that photo amusing - and not for anything that includes violence or racial reasons.

She's cute, really.

15. There is nothing wrong with that photo. That little girl was SMART and
she had the gumption to do whatever it would take to be able to see.

There is NOT ONE THING to be ashamed of here.

21. if it means anything they weren't in the trees when Obama spoke
that picture is from Wilmington, I was next to one of those trees. The police kept trying to pull down those climbing up trees.

The tree next to me had a boy and girl in it - both were white.

17. OMG the kids in the tree - they were in Wilmington, DE
We were standing right next to those trees but not that one (I don't recognize the kids). They did keep trying to pull them out of the trees (not all of them were kids). Towards the end of Obama's speech some woman crawled up one of the trees and started screaming "I love you Michelle" while waving the Jamaican Flag

28. The Republican Party chose
to dance with the Devil, and the Devil is shining the light of day on their bigotry. They are swirling down History's rat hole faster than shit going through a goose. Hatred is the grease on their skids. And all I can think is good riddance to bad garbage.

4. Well, screw them...
They're just jealous. No one they could have put up could generate the kind of excitement and anticipation that Obama does... Not even their beloved Ronald Reagan had that power... Obama has masterfully managed his transition and will take the oath Tuesday riding the highest day one approval ratings in memory... Freepers, sit the fuck down, shut the fuck up, and watch how it's done!

22. Good lord -
I got just past the first page of posts and couldn't go any further. What's more disgusting than the racist remarks themselves is the fact that not one person stands up and calls them on it. I guess we must assume that all Republicans share the same feelings and sentiment.

24. Oh those people are just nasty.
They don't even seem to know what a photo caption is either because they were just adding more pictures or saying racist stuff for the most part.

That site makes me feel schizophrenic the way it is set up. I can only take a quick look every now and again. The site really upsets me.

Whenever I go there I can't help but wonder what the world would have been like if throughout history these kind of people never existed.

... but I think this next few days I'm good. I really dont need to hear their drivel. I think I'd rather hear Pat Buchannan and Karl Rove talk about what an historic and momentous occasion this is and how capable and decent they think Barack is.

THAT is superfun! :)

33. They seem to be offended by the notion that Obama is from Illinois
He is from Illinois in the same sense that Bush if from Texas- W. didn't live there full time until he was an adult. They also seem to think that it's a farce to say that Obama is from the same state as Lincoln. They might be under the misconception that Lincoln was born in Illinois, which of course is not true.

Lincoln was born in Kentucky, then moved to Indiana and finally to Illinois at the age of 21. Obama went to school in California for two years, then New York for two years. He worked in NYC for another two after graduating and then moved to Chicago at the age of 23. I guess if you move somewhere at 21, that makes you a native son, but anything after that makes you a carpetbagger.
