Anyone else feel today as if a 10-ton weight was just lifted off their chest?

I'm feeling it, people. I'm feeling the wonderful lightness of knowing I'll never have to spend another presidential press conference or speech listening to that--well, you know. That my brain will no longer hurt listening to my president talk. That it will no longer make my teeth ache thinking how stupid he is and how awful he is making everything.

In just a few days, I will have a handsome, slender, intelligent president my own age who knows how to wrap his tongue around a phrase. And really, it's not so much his handsomeness or slenderness that matters, or even his age or eloquence, but the intelligence and the thoughtfulness and the kindness that will make the difference.

A doofus heir will be replaced by a son of meritocracy. Awkwardness will be replaced with grace. Frat-boy ineptitude will be replaced with smooth, calm competence.

I can breathe again. Can you?

7. Not quite yet.

Just arrived home this evening from a belated holiday family gathering, found my son with three young children is inches away from getting cut loose in a field that is steadily dying (newspapers), daughter/son-in-law, also with three young children, are struggling to avoid foreclosure, and a couple of the other relatives I had to face were utter fools that believe George Bush/GOP was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

My mood isn't very pleasant tonight.

The damage that has been done by the current fuckhead in the WH will take many more good people down the drain before America can be put back on track.

I and friends of mine are close to being Fked. Things are looking a little up, but I wonder if the congress has intelligence and balls to do what needs to be done. The last couple of years and months hasn't filled me with confidence.

ex. harry reid suddenly finding his balls w/ a democratic president.

ex. Giving into to the ideas of the Fcking repugs, the same people who drove the economy into the ground in the first place.
