Will Obama stiff the Veteran's Ball ... or will he let them cool their heels
and arrive on his own schedule?
They went all out for McCain.

1. I came in late to a bit of that on MSNBC with Shuster. I had no idea what they were talking
about - there is a Commander-in-Chief ball which they are going to. This "controversy" seems to be a new one.

Obama only went to Walter Reed this morning. The tomb of the unknown soldier yesterday. Michell and Jill were putting together goody bags for troops this afternoon and tonight's concert is for the kids of military families. Yeah - the Obama's are really out to dis the military.

2. Huh? Who went all out for McCain? There's not much love lost
between many vets and McCain, so not sure what you're talking about. And stiff the vets? He was at Walter Reed this a.m. visiting, his wife was packing care boxes for them today. I hardly think Obama will be 'stiffing' any vets.

5. He should definitely go...not to worship vets, but show his respect - NT
Can't earn respect if you don't give it.

6. Could it have to do with the organizer issue? The ball was cancelled.
Edited on Mon Jan-19-09 06:59 PM by FedUpWithIt All
If you bought tickets to the Veterans’ Inaugural Ball, plan on staying home.

The ball, which was to be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the St. Regis Hotel in Washington, D.C., has been canceled and the promoter, Dante Hayes of the nonprofit Congressional Education Foundation for Public Policy, cannot be located for an explanation.

As of 1:30 p.m. Monday, the links on the foundation’s Web site where tickets were sold — at prices topping $385 apiece — no longer work.

10. That was Jack Jacobs. He went on and on about how "even Clinton" went
to the ball for the Military and Obama would be making a huge mistake if he didn't go.

8. Thanks ... the comments on MSNBC were simply that Obama wasn't planning
to attend that ball.

9. I don't think anyone has clarified which ball he might not be attending.
I just thought this might be a overblown accusation based on the article i posted.

Apparently there are several "Military balls".

11. So where did Dante go, and did he blow town with the money?
Hmm, inquiring minds...
