My husband took off work today. We've spent the morning laughing, crying, drinking champagne, and finally - after seven years - hanging the US flag from our front porch. What an incredible day in American history. I thank whatever powers that may be that I lived long enough to see this day - and to see Bush and Cheney booed out of DC.

I feel like I need someone to pinch me, too.

I have to keep reminding myself that it is not the future, or soon, or tomorrow, but RIGHT AT THIS INSTANCE our President is Barack Hussein Obama.

I guess after the conditioning I've gotten over the past eight years my brain isn't used to taking in good news anymore.

That will change!
