The President Elect becomes President at 12:00 noon oath or no oath.. If he takes an oath, he has to wait till 12:00 to become President.

All the Fox commentary, the Exploding Freepers, RW Talking heads.. this is why they so screwed this country up in the first place.. they do NOT know diddly squat, and never did.

They do not know how to run a government the size of the the United State, that is why they are constantly harping on small government. These people do not know what to do, or even understand the Constitution.

EDIT.. to add reason for op.. local talk radio callers are on that binge again, that somehow, President Obama is not the President. Same group who wailed about the birth certificate. They think Bush will have to come back. I do not know where they people come from.

4. Well, he became president at 12:00, but before he could exercise any Presidential powers..
he had to take the Oath of Office.

Article II, Section I, Clause 7 of the Constitution:

7. Before he enter on the execution of his office, he shall take the following oath or affirmation:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of the President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

who think he is not "really" president,, aka birth certificate, etc.. he was President at 12:00, they just do not get a clue.

They think that because Roberts bobbled the words, that it mitigated the oath, and Bush will come back

There is just no explaining anything to some people
