It's the first morning in eight years where George Bush is not president. |

Aside from that, I'm thrilled.

I'm ready for the trials to begin.

anxious to get to work - and my face kinda hurts because I haven't been able to wipe this smile off it! :)
I don't know which moment evoked more emotion in me - Obama being sworn in or bush leaving.

Laura in Crawford will be gone by this evening when I return from work.
Otherwise, I'm just relieved and hopeful. :-)

The last 4 were especially hard for some reason. I could kind of accept that it had happened the first time. But getting him in there for a second term really tipped me over.

16. So relieved I could cry.... again. |
|
It's like a weight is lifted off me. I can breathe again.
The past 8 years, when I've seen a flag in front of someone's house, I've found myself shaking my head. The brand new flag in front of my neighbor's house this morning made me grin ear to ear.
I don't have to feel embarrassed every time I hear the word "President". I don't have to cringe when I hear talk of US foreign relations. I don't have to worry that every single decision being made and every action taken is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what should be done.
It's a feeling I'm not quite used to. I think it's called... "pride"?

17. Last nite, I awoke from sleep, and really realized now we |
|
have a new President thank god. But we have alot of work to do, and the criminals are still running around free.
Remember these words from Dick: If the President did anything illegal he would have been impeached, doesn't that make your blood boil? Remember these criminals are still walking around free.

Still taking it all in, but feeling good that the REAL adults are going to be in charge.
And feeling great that we have an intelligent (and cool!) president that talks TO us, not at us. The press conferences and SOTU address are going to be worth watching now! :bounce:
