If you're fixated on the oath flub, you probably need to re-read Obama's speech.

Look, Roberts screwed up. It really was no big deal, and he obviously didn't do it on purpose (who wants to look like a fool in front of millions of people in an effort to get "payback" -- that isn't really payback).

(As an aside, my only reaction to the flub was to realize how ridiculously sharp Obama is, since most people wouldn't have even noticed -- let alone prod the oath-giver into correcting his mistake.)

That all being said, Obama asked us all to grow up. Bush and Cheney spent eight years fixating on childish and meaningless political gotchas, and it needs to stop. We have real issues that we need to address, and brouhahas like this don't help one bit.

6. I look at it like a wedding ceremony....

.... I'm in the Bridal business. The old wives tale is that if you have something go wrong with your wedding .... a groomsman faints or it rains or one of the bridesmaid's hair catches on fire (ha!) or your flower girl throws a tantrum in the middle of the aisle .... well, it's good luck.

Personally, I'm sad that we're never gonna get a proper soundbite of him saying the oath .... but now we have our first official reason to make SURE he gets re-elected. ;)
