"We've finally did it. We finally elected a Muslin" (sic)
From the Baltimore Sun's opinion page:

"Well, we finally did it. We elected a Muslin President. An insult to the 43 Christian Men who came before. Whether or not you liked past Presidents, you have to admire the fact that they were all Christian. Not a Jew, not a Muslin, not an atheist. America is a CHRISTIAN NATION. Anything else is just downright insulting. If America still exists in 4 years, I have no doubt in my mind that Sarah Palin will defeat Joe Biden, and become President (I say Joe Biden because I expect that Obama will be impeached, resign, or assassinated by then), restoring good Christian faith to the White House/Oval Office.

Never again will we elect a Muslin man to lead the greatest country for Christians. I have some ideas about how we can prevent this, but some have told me they are too radical. I disagree. I already firmly believe that everybody in the world is born as a Christian, but later in life choose to abandon it or pursue another "faith." Although I hate large amounts of government intervention, I think a law should be created that makes it official: every American is born a Christian. Of course, later in life you can be allowed to convert to any "faith" or "religion" that you want, so there's really no difference in that regard. However, it will have to be recorded, so it will be on public record, so everyone can see exactly when and at what age you decided to abandon Christ. If this law existed, Obama would have been born Christian (assuming he was really born in Hawaii, like he says) and would have to convert to Islam later in life. Real Islamic terrorists in the middle east probably wouldn't want to associate with a Christian man, so his Christianity would keep Obama away from these terrorists he pals around with."

More deep, profound pearls of wisdom can be found here:

At the end when he says

"It's not like it's preventing people from practicing their religion of choice, they just have to convert to it publicly. If they really wanted to be born Jewish or Muslin, they should have been born in some other country."

That sounded fake.

13. I guess this yahoo doesn't count Lincoln
Lincoln was born to parents who belonged to a Christian sect that believed in adult baptism. Lincoln abandoned their church before being baptized and there is no record he ever was. In fact, he pretty much repudiated Christianity -- just didn't believe in it, as many of the early presidents didn't.

Funny how the people who always whine about "a Christian nation" don't know the first thing about the founding of the nation, and the ideas of the Founding Fathers about religion and state. (I watched Simon Schama's documentary series, it's very enlightening!)

By the way, there were 42 presidents before Obama, not 43.

53. Welcome to Sunspot! The best nonpartisan site on the web.
If you ever get tired of preaching to the choir. If you want to start debating real live republicans and other parties. You might wanna give us a try. But I'll give you warning. It's not a site for the timid. In case you noticed the "Keep it civil" reminder from the Admin. We're fond of bare knuckle no holds barred debating. But we're toning it down just a bit. As you've seen we like to have our fun too. Especially with crazy newbie that express unpopular opinions. Like this one.

You want laws, Shitbringer? My first law would be to outlaw six-tooth, knuckledragging asswipes such as yourself that one-hand-type bile-laden screeds that practically advocate assassination and stop one racial slur short of becoming hate speech.

There should be another law that the first person to mention Sarah Palin in a positive light loses.

71. That explains it!
All the quilting ladies I know were staunch Obama supporters, and we know white, middle-class, suburban women in their 60s and 70s were not his biggest demographic. It was the Muslin they wanted! Everyone who uses a needle knows how useful and versatile that stuff is - I've even bought it by the bolt. Should I tell them he's really a Muslim?

(Just kidding - I'm talking about the suburbs just south of San Francisco. At least one of the 70-year-olds told her grandchildren this summer that she was donating their inheritance to the Obama campaign - because if she didn't there wouldn't be any left for them anyway. And their all community activists in some way. And I'm not trying to pull the wool over your eyes :-)

86. I don't think Jefferson could be considered a Christian.
There has been some debate about whether he was a Christian or a Deist. I'm not an expert on the topic, so I couldn't say.

Certainly, our modern fundamentalists would not have considered him a Christian. He cut all the bits out the New Testament that he didn't like to create a version that suited him. (An admirable task. There are some fine teachings in the New Testament if you can weed out all the garbage.)

91. What a piece of trash writing
Regardless of what someone professes to be true...they are the opposite.

I think the worst part of watching Fox Tuesday was Glen Beck seeming to be profoundly upset about one line in one prayer. At some point, we all do have to put away childish things and become adults able to see beyond it all.
