You're getting a shitty corporate Blue Dog Kirsten Gillibrand! Supports FISA and other pro-corporate policies.
and I agree with her on this but I know you DLCers hate anyone that's anti-gun control.
Enjoy!

1. What the fuck is Paterson thinking? First off, the Dems won't hold that seat |
|
Gillibrand only eked out a victory in a dirty election ... secondly, she'll NEVER be able to hold the Senate seat in 2010 ... and after this pick, I predict NYers won't re- elect him either.
EPIC FAIL!!!

6. I personally think appointee senators shouldn't run for the seat. |

It's part of the reason I haven't said much regarding the Illinois/New York/Delaware Senate seat discussions. Let the appointee serve until the next election for the person who is resigning, and either hold a special election, or have the person not run the next term.
Or, at least, if they run they shouldn't get treated as an incumbent by the local party when the next election comes. I think it would definitely keep "pay for play" out of it. Caroline would have been a great caretaker appointee for the seat. But I no longer vote in New York elections, so I really don't have the right to tell New Yorkers what to do.
Personally, I want us fielding our best candidates for primary elections in 2010 for these seats, so we choose the strongest candidate to keep the seats blue in 2010.
We really need to hold on to the spirit we had in this election and keep it moving for the 2010 elections. Republicans are very good at mobilizing their people to vote in midterm elections, we need to remember that.

7. If she gets it. She likely would lose a primary |
|
to Maloney or McCarthy. Right?

8. I agree. I would take Caroline over a Blue Dog Democrat anyday. After all, Obama trusted her |
|
to run his VP search committee.
