The Gitmo guy who became a Queda Chief was released by the BUSH adminstration! |
|
And all these other figures being bandied about releasees becoming combatants just shows what a crappy job THEY did. They have set the bar so low in identifying who are the true risks as well as CREATING terrorists, that the Obama administration can pretty much only do better.

2. If they weren't mad at the US before they went to Gitmo |
|
they sure are now. Who wouldn't be? Gitmo, the invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan and Gaza have created many "terrorists". I put the word "terrorist" in quotes because the definition of the word is in the mind of the speaker. I'm sure the arab world views the US as a "terrorist" organization.

even though some of the prisoners were totally innocent at the time, after being in there for 7 years they will more than likely become "terrorists" I think there is a big risk in releasing any of them. It is a horrible situation Bush has left him with.

4. Risk or not, we CANNOT keep innocent people in jail the rest of their lives |
|
just because after what we did to them they may want to hurt us.
Hey, maybe we should just dig a large mass grave and shoot them all in the back of their heads. At least that would be quick.
CHARGE THEM, PROVE the charges, or RELEASE THEM.
Period.

5. This is a bad situation Obama is in. If he releases them they become |
|
terrorists. If not he is not keeping his promise, but he owes every American to keep us safe. Bush really screwed up.

even if he releases some that are totally innocent the press will haunt him about it, then try to convince people that we will be attacked again because of what Obama did. I'm not saying they shouldn't be released, of course they should, if they were innocent, but there is risk in whatever he chooses to do.
