FRAME GAME: Do Republicans not trust their own law enforcement/prison agencies in their states?
Edited on Fri Jan-23-09 08:19 PM by zulchzulu
With the Gitmo Closing and how some Republicans are WHINING about how it will be dangerous for those in Gitmo now to be sent to stateside prisons for actual judicial representation, two things clearly can be attacked on those thinking it would endanger our country if we had the prisoners there now have to be transfered to new prisons for trial.

1. Do these Republicans not trust the professionalism of their law enforcement agencies in their state? Do they think their own police are too incompetent to be able to handle a dangerous prisoner?

2. Do these Republicans not trust the judicial system of our country and have a problem of the basic rights and think, like communist countries, that someone is guilty until proven innocent? Are these Republicans telling us that we should not trust the very basic principles of justice in a democracy?

I would suggest that any Republican who dares to say that we can't handle performing basic and fair law enforcement should openly tell us they don't their police department and are willing to openly make a statement that their state's law enforcement agencies just can't handle it.

2. Neither they are playing the fear card remember state prisons have been called
revolving doors for so long that they forgot it was their policies that created todays prison system. Then theres another fact that a lot of citizens Don't realize or know there is prison systems, State , high profile ( for those rich people who get caught ) and federal. The prisoners at gitmo are federal prisoners so they will get sent to a federal prison, not states. Another thing are bringing to the states these prisoners will be granted rights such as having charges brought against them, due process, not a favorite thing with republicons.
