Wish we could play Hardball !
Edited on Wed Sep-15-04 09:04 AM by vetwife
I truly wish and will do so if ever get an inch in the doorway, which is impossible because they close the door. Even on C-Span when I had plenty to say, anything taped is edited. I would love to ask Blitzer and others what makes you and other anchors feel the need to opine rather than report? I would ask them who schedules the guests and why?
Why don't you ask hard questions? Is that beyond your capability?
Do you work here because you can't get a job anywhere else?
Do they pay you to say what you say?
Does integrity and truth mean less than being bought and sold? Do you consider yourself a piece of meat , a commodity for corporations to disallow you to do your job? Don't you feel used?
Do you drink or abuse drugs to handle the fact you are being handled?
How much time do you spend looking for questions rather than just accepting answers?
Aren't you really just tabloid tv and isn't this just show business that kills?
Yep..I wish I could put them all in one room and ask the quesitons.
They don't have a clue . Lou Dobbs would but even Tweety would stumbel. Talk about Harball ! I think some of us could really play Hardball !

1. It's funny when I first read your caption..
I read.."We Could Play Hardball!", and I thought "yeah!"

I think we're going to have to in any way shape or form we can, and I think Kerry/Edwards are going to eventually come out and do just that. I can't see us winning this thing by only being passive(okay, that's a little hyperbole but you know what I mean).

I know duers aren't! I heard that Harold Wolfson on crossfire yesterday was a Hardballer! More Wolfson and less deedee!!

I read on my roadrunner just now that bush says hes'.."proud of his guard service". I say "WHAT SERVICE???

Thanks for all your activism, Amanda!

2. I want to play, too!
Of course, I think one of the problems they have is (just like police) they spend all day dealing with people who want to "spin" stories a certain way. Police sometimes get hardened to "good citizens" because they spend all day dealing with bad. For the talking heads, I think they eventually forget "higher truth" as in REALITY!!! :)

3. Watched Outfoxed and shook my head.
I like yes or no questions. Opinion I can live without.
I demand it here at home and I love these people. LOL
Did you drop the can of tuna in the sink? Yes or No?
That is to a 14 year old?
Did you run all of the car out of gas? yes or no?
that would be to my eldest son.
The excuse doesn't matter. I just want the facts.
Its is funny sometimes because my husband is the same way. Military life I guess.
The discussion can come after you answer the question but only if its releveant to the why? Otherwise I don't need to hear anymore, I got my answer. If you lie, then the repricussion are long remembered after you sit out the 5th dance of the season at home reading The Life and Times of John F. Kennedy.
My husband told a guy at the VA one time, and we were talking to a Seargent Major. He said, Man, you had it rough. The S.Major said, I have been talking to your wife for 10 minutes, and she sounds like she outranks me. ROFL. My husband said, She is tough, but that is why I love her. She makes Roseanne look timid.
Debate? yeah I was on the debate team but kept the issues in front and only clouded an issue when it was to put the other person on defense. I guess I am an offense type person.

4. Not everything is black or white but everything is Yes or NO
We could play here. We could ask questions and see how many could
answer yes or no. I guarantee you most of us can !
