The Bush Presidency was just a TOOL for the Republican Party |

There's a reason why so many Republicans lost their seats (again) in the 2008 election. It's because, while Bush was certainly bad, he was just a tool for the Republican Agenda. The Republicans expected to get away with it and lay the blame fully on Bush, shielding themselves from potential political backlash. And to some extent they succeeded. But there was a backlash they didn't expect, and part of it was due to Bush himself. Bush constantly berated Congress for this failure and that failure in an attempt to shame Democrats into voting for the Republican Agenda. But what people saw instead was a Repubilcan party trying to ram its Agenda down the American People's throat.
This is what has Republicans in Congress so befuddled now. They do not know how to deal with someone who won't play on their turf, and instead, forces them to play on his. With yesterday's vote in the house, the Republicans showed what they are really about: continuing to divide Americans and breaking the backs of the poor and middle class. The Democrats aren't going to let that happen. Obama is not going to let that happen. And no matter what the Republicans *say* their motive is, their motive is exposed for all to see. The Democrats and the Obama administration have offered to work with the concerns of the Republicans. And when they address those issues, the Republican cry foul and bring out their idiotic mouthpiece on GOP Hate Radio to spread their whining and wailing.
And they can cry all they want. Because their day is over. The day for the American People is here. And we are taking our country back from the filthy hands of those who would defile her.

1. Until the memes and the dialogue change.. |

.. in public and private consciousness..
nothing that either Dems or Reeps do will change much of anything.
This has to do with public and private consciousness of inequality, poverty, and the idea that all humans are just as good and worthy as any other anywhere.

2. The Republican party is just a tool for the corporations. |

That's the larger story here. They used the Republican party to rape this country's economy and foreign policy for 8 years. Then they planned on sitting back and smoking a cigarette, while everything (including the Republican party) fell to shit. Problem is, you're not supposed to smoke that cigarette in bed, lest you ignite the very bed you sleep on.
