Robert Reich for Commerce Secretary
Anybody think this might be a good idea? Obama has a lot of former Clinton people in his administration. I think Reich would be a great choice. Think he would do it?

14. Richardson was vetted from being in the Clinton Admin. as well---
That doesn't mean something hasn't happened since.

21. I am not saying he was. I just say you can't automatically say he would pass vetting now.
This applies to anyone.

12. Just posted this in another thread...
before I saw this one--GMTA!

RR would be an excellent, intelligent choice and we would have to doubt his intentions.

15. Never pass up an opportunity to read him -
He is able to critique without going negative. I don't know if he'd take it though - doesn't he have a pretty cushy position at UC Berkley? Wish I could take a class from him!

24. Well, I don't know if he's actually worried
But he pointed out in a commentary a few weeks ago that his employer (the state of California) is bankrupt.

I'd love to be in his class to, BTW.

23. He wouldn't give up his seat -
in the New Yorker profile of him a while back, they said he wanted to be Senator in 2004 if Kerry won, but now he has decided he would rather stay in the House even if an opportunity comes to move up.

26. Reich should be treasury secretary.
Geithner can go back to the hollow tree and make his Keebler cookies for his fellow Wall Street Whores. And take Larry $ummer$ with him.

Commerce secretary? How about Warren Buffett? Or even Jimmy.... Margaritas and cheeseburgers for everyone!

29. I second that emotion, but as much for political and communication skills, also.
Geithner has incredible experience, contacts and trust around the world we need, though. Wall St. may never like the accountability he brings.
