I want a congressional investigation On BOB NOVAK Blitz Dem Legislators |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-15-04 09:32 PM by vetwife
If the republicans can call for congressional hearings on a report of documents 35 years old, why can't we call for a congressional hearing for Bob Novak to reveal his source on Valerie Plame? I mean one story is 35 years old, the other is new and has put a CIA agent at risk and it too is a felony ! Call their hand dems !
R-winged reporter did more damage ! He put someone's life at risk not their politicial endeavors. whats good for the goose is good for the Chickenhawks !

2. I sent an email today to msnbc telling them that it was disgusting |
|
that repuke congressmen were demanding that CBS disclose their source, but a reporter who has committed treason, bu outing Valerie Plame is not being required to disclose who the traitor is that leaked this to him
We need to demand this is done to every source that we can

4. What's more disgusting is that the press just sits on its hands while |
|
this happens. We shouldn't be surprised at anything the Republicans do anymore. But for the press to continue to embrace Bob Novak yet stand by silently - and in many cases, cheering them on - as Republicans beat the First Amendment senseless, is unforgiveable.

6. When we lost the Senate |
|
that's part of what we lost with it. That whole '02 election messed us up big time, there could have been so many investigations and hearings if we had the majority and they knew that. So strange how so many seats we were ahead in the polls or close and right at the end we lost them. We lost Wellstone and Cleland's seat was taken. It wasn't just winning to them it was everything.

13. Look at the information coming out of Florida about the 2002 election |

It seems clear that if thousands of people hadn't been illegally and unfairly scrubbed from the voting rolls, jebbie wouldn't have been reelected.

OK. Pardon my ignorance. Maybe I just don't get it. How is perpetrating this little fraud on CBS (presuming that is indeed what it is) a felony if no money was exchanged? Certainly if the facts are untrue then the perpetrator would be exposed to civil action ... but a felony?
Now blowing a CIA NOC's cover is a felony called "Treason", and those involved should be tried, convicted, and offered a final cigarette and blind fold. It is almost certain that American intelligence folk died because of the Plame thing.

Not fulfilling your obligation in the military is a Felony. So the freepers are saying CBS tried to set up Bush for a felony...enters Dan Rather.Republicans yelling ! Novak is covering for someone who did commit a felony ! CBS and Rather did not. Although freepers and Republicans, they are trying to spin it into one !

But I am still wondering by what legal basis a Congressional investigation may proceed. If CBS fabricated the story, then they are no worse than Fox, which already won in court the right to do so, citing the First Amendement. If a fraud was perpetrated on CBS, then they certainly have the right to press charges. If this was done to slander Bush, he has the right to sue just like the rest of us. But how the hell does this warrant a Congressional investigation? Congress has some other fish to fry ... pretty big fish with gnarly teeth and scales at that.
The Congressional investigation thing has some pretty scary implications, IMHO.

How many legitimate congressional hearings have been called for by the Democrats only to be quickly shot down?
I wonder how this is playing with the general public. When Repugs overstepped the boundaries during the Clinton impeachment, people rebelled and Clinton's rating went up. I'm hoping that's how this will play out.
