Poll shows Dean No. 1 with Georgia Democrats
By MONI BASU
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Bita Honarvar / AJC
Michael Nelson of Marietta says Al Gore's endorsement of Howard Dean "carried a lot of weight with me."

A few weeks ago, Snellville businessman Michael Inya-Agha had no idea who would get his vote in the Georgia primary election. But when he saw Howard Dean anointed the Democratic front-runner, Inya-Agha joined the crowd.
"He wasn't always my favorite," Inya-Agha said. "I had an open mind. But I see now that a lot of people are flocking toward him. He's projected to win."
Inya-Agha is among Georgia Democrats polled this week by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution who have moved to the Dean camp since a similar poll in October.
Buoyed by a surge in publicity -- including former Vice President Al Gore's endorsement -- Dean moved into a solid lead in the survey of 277 likely Democratic Georgia voters, conducted Monday and Tuesday.

AJC Poll

Dec.- Oct.
Howard Dean 18.8% -7.4%
Dick Gephardt 7.5 -11.5
Someone else 6.8 -1.6
Wesley Clark 6.5 -13.1
Al Sharpton 5.6 -3.3
Joe Lieberman 5.5 -9.0
John Kerry 2.7 -4.9
Carol Moseley Braun 2.6 -5.4
John Edwards 1.9 -3.8
Dennis Kucinich 0.2 -0.8
Not sure 42.1 -39.1

11. True answer,
I wouldn't be surprised if email alerts were distributed. I, however, do not receive any on matters like this, although I am a contributor. I do receive emails regarding speeches, appearances, fundraising drives, etc...about 1 or 2 a day, usually.

5. Beat Your Drums All You Want, But Georgia is the only.....
Southern State that Dean may do well in, WHY?????

It's an open primary and the Republicans/Freepers are going to come out in droves and vote for him, just goes to show....

He's their man......

Next time learn something about the south before you start beating those drums.....

12. Well Georgia is not the whole south, and based on that open
primary thing, I think hell he might just win there. Only good thing is that it's a late state....as far as voting goes...

17. Isn't Zell Miller from Georgia?
and extremely popular with democrats there also I would imagine.

I don't think this is something to brag about unless of course there is a common link between the two. It would be interesting to see how many Georgia dean supporters also support ol' Zell.

Just food for thought from "JAFO", carry on!
