1. They should go ahead and make it a law rather than just an executive order |
|
That way a future Republican President won't be able to overturn the executive order.

2. It doesn't matter - in 4 years scientists will start thousands of stem cell lines |
|
and the point will be moot. There will be more than enough lines to support all of the research needed for decades.

5. True but they should probably do it to make all of the GOP House/Senate members cast a vote on it |
|
Right before the 2010 elections would be a good time.

6. I thought that's what he was planning on doing. I could've sworn he said earlier that |
|
he preferred to put it through the Congress so it could be voted on.

since I have MS which COULD be helped by this research, although it may be too late for me. There are millions of people who it could help.

3. I hope he does it right away. I don't see what's controversial about doing research |

on "embryos" that are going to be thrown out from IVF clinics, anyway. If there's ANY moral questions about it, they should be about allowing IVF clinics to EXIST since they regularly discard unused blastocysts ("embryos"). People who are against ESCR can NEVER explain why it's ok to discard them from IVF clinics in the first place.

8. GOOD. Now when is going to lift the ban on Federal employees using their own insurance to |
|
pay for abortions! Clinton lifted that ban in his first day or two!

10. Kick! I hope this happens quickly. There is work to be done and clinical trials |
|
to be started. Bush's FDA refused to open clinical trials for privately funded ESCR research therapies.
