Sen Burris tourist pass should be turned in. I hope he realizes that he has been used. |
|
I don't think he paid for the ride to DC but he has been coned. Senator save yourself many trials and disgrace.
Declare victory and go home.

1. I say leave him alone. |
|
So what, he stood near a scandal and got painted by the same brush.
So what, Ted Stevens with a 7 count felony conviction got a 2 minute standing ovation from the Republicon controlled Senate.

3. Oh stop, Burris is NOW a Senator. We have more pressing issues as democrats rather |
|
than feeding into a GOP conspiracy theory. He's IN, so be it!

The Governor's brother approached him seeking money, and we just hear about this now? The people of Illinois deserve to have a Senator that is at least a 1/4 of the person that Obama was.
Burris is a disgrace

He appears to be quite delusional and quite likely as corrupt as the man that appointed him. The mere fact that he accepted the seat from Blago shows he was far more interested in being Senator than being "honorable". I predict that he will become a huge distraction for Democrats and I can guarantee that he will become fodder for 24/7 news coverage by the mainstream media and right wing hate radio for the next few weeks.
The Limbaugh wing of the GOP will pound on this scandal as part of their "death by a thousand cuts" strategy to diminish and neuter President Obama and Democrats.
One thing is certain, Burris isn't gonna go quitely. He is exactly the type of guy that will have no qualms about dragging this out regardless of the damage it will do Illinois, the nation and Democrats.

5. Burris is a Senator from Illinois. |
|
That is the fact that we have no valid issue to contest. Like it or not, he's in and we are only FEEDING GOP insanity if we assist in speculation from this point on.

8. Ignoring the fact that he should never have taken the appointment...he wont win reelection |
|
I want to see a strong Dem in there now that can build up on these next two years and be a strong candidate to remain in the seat 2 years from now.

10. Says YOU!?! It was a LEGAL move. You don't like it, OK, that's understood. But he is SENATOR. |
|
And it is LEGAL. If you wish to call RushBo's program to piss and moan, fine. However, that does not detract from THE FACT that Burris is LEGALLY a Senator.

This is Burris and his supporters, vs those who dont. And there are plenty of Democrats like me who do not like him.

So I dont understand why you feel the need to keep on pointing out that his selection is legal. Ive already said that I agreed like ten times.

19. Gee, that's the same way I felt about Bill Clinton when the Lewinsky affair broke |
|
But like it or not, Bill Clinton remained president albeit IMO, a disgrace to the office.
We all have our own background, baggage and opinions, but NOT unlike Bill Clinton remaining president in spite of his national disgrace, Roland Burris will remain Senator.
Sorry, next question?

23. Your posts on this thread are pretty funny! Cheers! |
|
I guess Burris's appointment is legal until it is not. With the way he is churning out stories that contradict his SWORN TESTIMONY, who knows what will be revealed. At the VERY least, Burris is either a moron par excellence for opening his yap and possibly perjuring himself OR he is as dirty as they come and only revealed his quid pro quo dealings with Blago because he has been told or suspects that the FBI has his dumbass on phone taps wheeling and dealing for the seat. Either way, Burris is a less than honorable man for accepting the seat from a Governor accused of trying to sell THAT VERY SEAT. There are no two ways about that in my book.
As for your tourettes syndrome-like propensity for peppering your posts with "legally seated", rock on! LOL!
