Bobby Jindal just dealt a blow to Republican caucus discipline. |
|
A grand slam by the President and Jindals' dismal performance will have long lasting impact on the Republican caucuses' and their discipline over the next 18 months.
Had Jindal made a presentable or even an arguable case for the Republicans, they would have their spokesman and some reasonable hope that 2010 might not be a disaster for them.
Now they are without a leader, a theme or a workable ideology.
Republican Governors don't agree with themsleves and outside of DC nobody agrees with Congressional Republicans.
My prediction; Republicans in the House and the Senate will now be looking for ways to agree with President Obama and the leadership's ability to hold their members captive will significantly diminish.
If you are a Republican congressperson or Senator, Governor Jindal just gave you the message:
Every Man or Woman for themselves, the Republican Party has nothing to help you in 2010.

1. Now they are without ..... a theme |
|
I thought Jindal expressed the perfect Republican theme.
Katrina exposed the failures of Republican leadership.
Or did I miss something there?

..ever since I read that he took on the name after Bobby Brady. I mean, DUDE, at least go for the cool one, GREG. It's like a girl choosing Jan over Marcia.

21. The Republican's new theme ... |
|
We will eliminate the government that we brought to you during the Bush years! So vote for us!
(Since they use Katrina as the example of how government can go wrong.)

That is their theme for the entire country, not just their own politicians.

10. This was the 'best hope' that they had? Seriously? |
|
Same old tired rhetoric that the entire nation knows as nothing more than the litany of Republic Party Failure, and he trots it out like it's a bright, shiny new toy?
Are they for real? You can almost hear the laughter in the background.
The are quickly running out of shit ideas to throw against the wall, hoping something sticks.

The best part was Chris Matthews off camera but still mic'ed up saying "Oh My God!"
Jindal-Bells comments were so off-the-charts that not even the Republicans supported what he had to say!
What a clown! And that was the best that the GOP had to roll out. Why not mic up Sarah Palin? She's bound to say something even more out there.

Just as Cha said.
The only hope they have is that we give them openings to re-create something. Otherwise, they are toast.
Right now, they need to be raising vital funds for the 2010 elections. No matter what happens down the road, if they enter the election season way behind in funds, they are screwn.
They need our help to solve this problem. And that just gets them in the game. No more.

20. I think the GOP is bound for a smashing success |
|
You gotta love the Republicans. Their two "brightest lights" are a self-proclaimed exorcist (Jindal) and a witch hunter (Palin) and their moral leader is a drug addicted radio entertainer (Limpballs).
They have a supporting cast of neutered members of Congress who can't take a shit without getting a fax from Karl Rove -- and even then they poop all over themselves.
Jindal blows his maiden speech so bad that even the party sycophants couldn't stomach it. Palin's own daughter calls bullshit on her mother's "abstinence only" crusade.
The party's last presidential candidate is wandering around DC shaking his cane and shouting at pigeons, thinking they're helicopters.
Come on -- this has "SITCOM" written all over it. This could blow The Office right off the charts. And the best thing is, all the characters could play themselves.
