Steele and Jindal's pathetic toadying to Rush shows how pathetic the GOP has truly become. |
|
Seriously, they're done. They have no real leader right now, so Rush has waddled onstage to take the role. Unfortunately, he's ill-suited to be their leader. He appeals to the base, but that's not who they need right now...they need a message that reaches voters outside of the 'inbred hick' demographic. They don't have one. In its place, they have the same old crap, some awkward and pathetic attempts at slang, and a sleazy huckster as the ringmaster of a three-ring circus of scum. This is good for us, though. If top Repukes won't stand up to Rush, than neither will the rank-and-file. They'll follow him right off the edge of obscurity. I think we should encourage this relationship.

2. Some Repubs like Romney are trying to distance themselves |
|
but are too afraid to call him out directly. Steele got the old smackdown. Can't say I want them to stand up, its good for the Dems and our country to have the Repukes without a good leader.

5. This is an old problem, dating back to at least 1992 |
|
GOP officials have been trying to overcome this since Pat Buchanan's historic run in 1992.
Q: How can we keep the right wing fanatics in the party while simultaneously telling them to fuck off?
A: Play along with them as far as is necessary, but never let them be in charge of anything.
Well that has worked so far. But now the rubber has met the road. And things cannot continue as they were. The wackos have been robbed blind by their own party for at least the last 5 presidential cycles. In my opinion, that will never work again.
