I have watched CNBC since the early ninties.
Rick Santelli has always been the least political correspondent on the program, and I always considered him to be the most liberal person on the network, for whatever that is worth. He is the only person on that program that I stop what I am doing and listen to, because he is good and he is not very political.
His so-called "rant" was not even much ado about nothing. When I weigh this nothing against years of unbiased reporting, I am shocked that he would be made into such a symbol. Maybe its because he is so professional and even-handed that people are using him for extremist opinions, I don't know.
So its pissing me off that a guy who really does a great job being slammed for a twenty second rant.
I welcome any of his critics to scrounge up anything from his previous or subsequent work that should change my opinion. No conspiracy theories, please.

When I say that a multi-millionaire derivatives trader and his buddies on the floor of the Chicago Exchange are about the LAST people I want to get a lecture on "moral hazard" from.
