Obama Mail For Murphy (NY-20)

A mailer featuring President Obama's endorsement of Scott Murphy is scheduled to start landing in mailboxes around the 20th CD tomorrow.

The piece, which is paid for by Murphy's campaign, features a quote from the president saying Murphy "is the right candidate for Upstate New York to turn the economy around adn create jobs," which is in keeping with the whole referendum-on-the-stimulus concept that has brought a national focus to the March 31 special election.

Lending his image to a mailer and a TV spot - not to mention the voice of his vice president - to assist Murphy, but not recording a robocall or commercial himself allows Obama to maintain some degree of distance from this race just in case things don't go the way he and the Democrats are hoping.

Then again, it's only Friday.

If Obama's willing to start putting his name out on this campaign, he must feel pretty confident of the outcome...
