I'm watching Face the Nation in HD
Is it me or does it look like President Obama is trying to grow a mustache?

If he is, I hope Michelle makes him shave it.

1. I watched the NCAA bball games in HD at my parents house last night
HD scares me. My parents showed me Faux news in HD. Whoever invented it wanted us to really see everyone's flaws up really really close. Okay for games but for spotlighting just people its just wrong.

3. He always makes sense. He actually told the host .........
(sorry, I don't know his name. I rarely watch FtN) to be quite for a second and "let me finish".

He was just asked about "asking the American people to make sacrifices", Obama replied that the middle and lower class echelons are suffering, and you shouldn't ask a person who has been foreclosed upon and homeless to make sacrifices.

10. And you are too sensitive to my posts.
I just wonder why a lip shadow overshadowed what was being said.

11. I can can chew bubble gum and watlk at the same time. I'm also more than .............
capable of watching a person and listen to what is being said.

I'm currently watching McCain as he speaks more nonsense about how the repugs offered "alternatives" to the omnibus and bailout bills, and wondering why Gregory didn't call him out on it. At the same time I am wondering who fitted him for his suit. It fits him like a child who put on daddy's coat to play businessman.

Now he just said that he would be willing to work on immigration policy with the President, as long as the President leads. Translation: Yes, I want to see immigration on the table, but I don't want to be held accountable.

4. No, he is not. but I beleive he uses an electric shaver.. they normally
don't get as close of a shave. I think many "on the go" types use those. They are easily packed in a suit case and you can pull it out after catching a late flight and catch that 5 o' clock shadow. Its always like that on his upper lip.

5. The resolution in HD
The resolution in HD is so sharp that yeah you notice lots of details in people's faces you didn't or couldn't see in standard def tv. He shaved really close this morning no doubt but you can see the growth starting to come back so yeah the President might look like he's growing a 'stache. Imagine what Nixon would've looked like on HD - yikes.

15. HD resolution is very sharp and even a half day's beard stubble is noticeable.
The other week I was watching an episode of "The Mentalist" and I noticed the clean shaven Simon Baker had just a little stubble on his chin.

13. Maybe his beard/mustache just grows really fast
Edited on Sun Mar-29-09 10:28 AM by blogslut
Another point proposed upthread - electric shaver, makes sense. Many black men have very sensitive skin, subject to ingrown hairs as a result of blade shaving. There are depilatories for it but like all depilatories, they smell like ass.

14. No he isn't but I've noticed it before - usually later in the day. This was taped Friday pm
so I guess that is why you can see it - especially on HD.

He is a man. His facial hair grows.

16. I've noticed what seems to be a hint of 'stache recently as well, but
I think the shadow itself looks hot on him, like some men look good with stubble. He doesn't need to grow it out completely, nor do I think he will.

Looking forward to seeing it. ;-)

17. He doesn't bother wearing make-up when he is on television
all of the time, like many politicians do.

He wore some during the debates, and it was quite apparent. That's what happens when you have brown skin......there are so many shades of skin tone browns out there that it is not always easy to match the skin tone perfectly, and the make up can becomes obvious.

Our president has opted for the most part not to wear it. That's why HD also showed the normal discoloration in his face, which results in not having seen any sun in some time.

As you know, many politicians, including the last President, when they were going to be on television, have the gal/guy putting on the pancake make-up and such. Looks like Obama just gets a bit of powder and not anything else. So at least you are seeing the true Obama on HD, not a made-up one. That's probably a good thing! :)

18. I noticed his make-up during one of his appearances on television ...........
it made his skin look orangeish on High Def.

Shrub always looked kind of pinkish, and Cheney always looked pale. Although in Cheney's case, it could have been the lack of heart.

20. Although in Cheney's case...
It is hard to make the undead look alive no matter how much you try - just can't be done.
