2. If that's true along with other government involvement in business, how long before those who
determine what products will be produced will roll out the first 100mpg, pollution free, SUV?

How did the U.S. economy survive the 20th century without the guidance of central planning committees for production of goods and services?

6. Well, for starters, for a good chunk of the 20th century central planning committee did have a say
in production of goods. Especially during the Great Depression and WWII.

7. I can see a difference here
One factor for people looking for a new car considering one of the troubled cars will be whether their warranty will be there if the company goes under. If the restructuring succeeds, this costs the govrnment nothing and it might make it a little easier to succeed.

4. good move
not only from an overall business perspective, but as the owner of a brand new Malibu it's good to know I'll still be covered.

5. A good way to fund a bailout, and if gov. takes over, will end some bond debt.
Wish media understood the car problems easier to solve and be forceful about, at least for now. Instead unfairly how admin. only cares about Wall St.
