Scarborough loses his shit entirely laughing at Glen Beck (video)

This was the hardest I have every laughed at 7 am. Willie showed a reel of Glen Beck's patriotic crying jags (this incident probably led to Colbert's Beck segment last night) and Joe Scarborough totally lost it laughing at Beck.

This clip is shortened, unfortunately. It was a long incident... Scarborough turned bright red and couldn't speak for laughter. Mika says, "What the hell was that?" Then when they went to commercial they played "Proud to be an American" while Scarborough mockingly stood with his hand over his heart, tears of laughter streaming down his face.

(Latter the true believers sent many hostile emails demanding to know why Joe was laughing at true patriot like Beck.)

Very funny stuff.

But he should have just stuck with it instead of trying to say later a couple times "Oh, it was an email". And does WIllie know that Colbert has been spoofing Beck for WEEKS? He was like "this would be a good person for Colbert to make fun of". But yes, rare rare endearing moment for Joe (even though he had to keep adding the caveat about what a "nice person" Beck is, etc)

6. I thought Scarborough's joke defense was one of the funniest parts

He wasn't seriously trying to make people believe he had gotten a funny email.

He was having an existential wing-nut moment. Being a Republican he's not supposed to laugh but once you start you can't stop.

later when he gave the excuse but went into Beck mode. But the first times he used the excuse (didn't watch your clip, just from memory) annoyed me. I was glad he gave up the excuse later though. I liked when they randomly zoomed in on Barnicle's eyes.

I even liked the deadpan way Joe anti-sold that 'it was an email' claim. Nice way to follow the script while making it obvious that it's a script.
