I just sent this letter to the mayor of Stamford CT

Dear Sir:

I am not a citizen of Stamford, and I know that your time is limited, so I will keep this short.

I just wanted to congratulate you on your appearance with and handling of Steeve Doocey on FOX. You simply would not let Doocey make a mockery of the truth about our infrastructure needs. Your appearance was a plus not only for your city, but for all Americans who are more concerned about this country than with their hair and make up. Stamford is lucky to have a person of your caliber as its mayor.

Unfortunately, I have no plans to do much traveling in this economy, but I look forward to visiting Stamford at the earliest opportunity.

Sincerely

3. I throughly enjoyed that!
That mayor came out swinging and totally kicked that arrogant, GOP propagandist Steve Doofy where the sun don't shine!

Good for him!

6. Actually, he didn't get much of a chance to say anything
because the mayor hammered him.

7. Thanks. I wanted him to know that his efforts are going
to bring at least one visitor to his city.

I just got an email back from his executive aide:

John:

Thanks for taking the time to email. It's nice to see that the interview is still making its rounds on the internet all these weeks later- I will pass your feedback along to the mayor and I hope you get the chance to visit Stamford soon.

Cheers,
Arielle

Arielle Reich
Executive Aide
Mayor Dannel P. Malloy

8. How nice and on a Sunday too! But I'm glad because
it really is good when people take the time to thank somebody (like you did or the aide did too)

So often we think of letting someone know that we were moved or to express thanks or gratitude for a job well done but we don't get around to it. The royal "we" could be called me. You set a good example and I hope it will get me to overcome laziness and take those few minutes when it's called for.

13. Thank you, ashling, for writing to the Mayor of
Stamford, Conn and for sharing on here as an incentive to write when we support what our leaders do.
