This is what you call pressure.

3. No. Pressure is releasing the memos while the CIA is threatening you if you do. |

7. I know. I felt the CIA was basically threatening his life. |
|
But...you know. People want to criticize...so they will.

12. If you think a Special Report from Keith Olbermann is "pressure," |
|
you have no idea kind of real pressure Obama has to deal with, like veiled threats from the CIA.
I like Olbermann very much, but to suggest he could pressure or scare the President into anything is absolutely laughable.

|
on a bunch of stuff like the high speed rail he talked about today, but Keith is right on this one and I am glad someone has the nerve to say so.

8. The CIA threatened Obama...you know that right? |
|
The Repubs are on him because of his decision on releasing the memos which allow for prosecution of Bush. And yet you say Keith is right?! W/E. I mean, I respect Keith's views, but I definitely disagree with him.

Obama ain't gonna put his life on the line just because ya'll want revenge. Keith wants justice, yes, (as do I) but most of the MFs on here clearly want REVENGE, and that ain't gonna happen.

20. I "get" why Obama is doing what he needs to do, and leaving |
|
things open, but Keith would be derelict in his duty as a journalist and as editorializer if he didn't point out what the law and justice demands. It is possible for them both to be correct, in their respective spheres.

11. I sure hope he doesn't. The CIA hated Jack Kennedy too after |
|
the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Kennedy publicly took responsibility for the disasterous mission and then fired CIA director, Alan Dulles, and some others. Dulles was so bitter and hated Kennedy with a passion because of it.
Just saying . . .

13. You're not the only one just saying. |

It's commonly discussed rumors were that CIA was involved with JFK. I'm surprised DUers here aren't remembering that...and hence the reason people need to tread lightly around this topic and situation. Yet...clowns are too ready to bring down O.

Perhaps even the most traumatic event in American history (no, not JFK...think more recent than that).

15. Yep, the French assassin who was serving a life |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-16-09 09:22 PM by Phx_Dem
sentence in a French prison for something else did an interview several years ago admitting to being one of the shooters and explained how it all went down, how they got out of the country and who hired them. Give ya one guess?
I think the guy had cancer and decided to spill it so he's probably dead by now. I've read nearly every book written on the Kennedy assassination and I have a very strong opinion about who orchestrated the assassination.
Presidents have to walk a fine line with the CIA -- you can't let them 'go rogue,' but you can't fuck with them either.
This issue is absolutely and unequivocally NOT worth the life of my President. Been there, done that.
