Coleman files Senate appeal with state Supreme Court]

By KEVIN DUCHSCHERE, Star Tribune

Last update: April 20, 2009 - 4:35 PM

Former Republican Sen. Norm Coleman this afternoon filed notice of his intention to appeal with the Minnesota Supreme Court last week's trial verdict awarding the U.S. Senate election to his DFL opponent Al Franken, according to Coleman spokesman Tom Erickson.

The appeal is contained in a short document that briefly summarizes his case. The meat of Coleman's argument will be contained in a brief to be filed later, perhaps this week, Erickson said.

Franken attorney Marc Elias was scheduled to comment on Coleman's appeal later this afternoon.

3. Norm will never concede. He knows that if he can get the USSC to hear

6. He's just holding Franken out of his rightful spot.
That's all this is about, he knows he lost but he's running the clock as long as possible.
