Specter is a loose cannon, maybe one of the biggest loose cannons EVER. An official, major-league embarrassment to any party, group, cause, issue, or idea he identifies with.
And batshit crazy as well.
Maybe the GOP has finally figured out the smart way to fight back. "Ha! We'll send them Arlen!"
This is not good. Not at all good.
Any minor short-term benefits are going to be far outweighed by the continuing price.

he won't be the most conservative blue dog so it's not like he's going to swing that bunch further to the right.
oh and the media talks about no bipartisanship, well the dems are like two parties and the president has to bargain with both of them ... that's bipartisanship.
