Michael Steele Blasts GOP: "Disingenuous" and Implies Bush and Cheney Have No Core Values |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-30-09 07:38 AM by SuperTrouper
On Morning Joe, Michael Steele candidly said in response to Olympia Snowe's claim that the GOP is a regional party since they have no Congressional Representatives from New England and only 3 from NY (and had a little umbrella where Moderates were not welcome) that after the Reagan revolution of 1980 when it was "cool to be Conservative" the GOP found itself in 2000 with a leadership that had no core values and betrayed the principles of Conservatism and the 16 Representatives from New England evaporated to "zero" under their leadership by 2008. He said that Bush and Cheney were responsible for the beginning of the nationalization of the banks by throwing $700 billion in their bailout package and the Republicans now were acting in a "disingenuous"way...He recommended that the GOP admits its culpability and move on. Pat Buchanan was sitting next to him and he had a look of astonishment. Furthermore, Steele said that the GOP had the Democrats where they wanted them to be and now it would be a battle of Liberalism vs Conservatism. Joke Scumborough then said that now the GOP can run a true COnservative with real Conservative core values.
I wonder how much time Michael Steele has as GOP National Chairman after throwing Bush and Cheney under the bus and chastising his fellow Republicans as "disingenuous"

1. Steele seems to have a knack for saying spectacularly stupid things. |
|
Which is a good thing in a Republican Chairman.
Carry on, Mr. Steele.

Someone posted in general discussion that he said on CBS this morning that Rush was right over Snowe, but THEN said stuff about moderates coming in. The dude is all over the place. He better start taking notes on all the shit he is throwing out on the various shows, to make sure it matches up.

3. I think Steele and Jindal are the tip of the spear, actually--the commandos who go in and may not |
|
survive, but if they do survive, they'll be invincible.
He's got nothing to lose, really. If he can't change them, and fix them, he might as well jump ship too!

4. And once again a member of the party of responsibility |
|
takes responsibility for absolutely nothing.
Yo Mikey, bush and cheney were classic republicans with core conservative values. That's why your party is hated by the vast majority of Americans, the real patriots.

9. I really wonder how much longer Steele will be around. He seems |

to say anything that comes to mind without thinking about it. It actually works for our side so I hope he continues.

14. if the "leadership" (Bush & Cheney) had no core values, |
|
why then did the GOP follow in lockstep and vote along party lines whenever Bush farted out one of his new bills?
Let them run a "true CONservative" ... and watch him fail miserably and in a landslide ...

24. Isn't it fun? It's almost an embarrassment of riches, that everyone who |

grabs the GOP spotlight these days is a bigger clown than the last. If he's the mole, I hope they don't vote him off anytime soon. :)

Steele goes on Limbaugh to say "Ahm sorry massa! Ah didn mean no harm! Not the whip massa!" or backpedaling faster than Lance Armstrong with his gears stuck on reverse?
I give it a day, tops.
What an utter clown this guy is...

"...Steele said that the GOP had the Democrats where they wanted them ..."
The best chance for the republicans to recover is for the Democrats to fuck things up. The only way we can do that is if we're in charge. Hence, they have us right where they want us. lol
Edit: This is not completely a joke, either. Remember in 1976, in the aftermath of Watergate, the Dems increased their control of the House and senate, and won the presidency. The media wrote the obituary for the republican party. Four years later, in 1980 the republicans won the presidency, took control of the Senate and increased their seats in the House (although they didn't have control of it). All because Carter fucked up. And that statement will get an arguement out of a lot of lefties, but that's how the country saw it.
Don't get complacant, and pray President Obama doesn't screw up.

23. Right, maybe, but he's still lying. |
|
He's busing only Bush/Cheney only because the Fail Brothers are currently unpopular. Or Obama's making them look stupid and corrupt.
Steele isn't really dissatisfied with the previous Administration.
