"Fiscally Conservative" - the biggest lie they spread |
|
The Republicans are not and have not been fiscally conservative at least since the days of Ronald Reagan. The only reason they want a "small government" is so that the functions of government can pass into private hands where all of us will pay much more for whatever goods, services, resources or products they have absconded with.
They also pick and choose what they are "fiscally conservative" about: Unlimited money for defense and defense contractors - black budgets, no limits, no accountability, etc. while any bit of the economy directed firsthand to the people- health, education, social security, medicare, is deemed budget busting and responsible for running up unaffordable deficits.
Whenever they use this phrase it just sickens me with disgust for their hypocrisy and the contempt they are showing the American people since they well know the truth.

1. Yes, today's Republicans are fiscal liberals. |
|
They tax less, then borrow money to spend more than Democrats. Result = huge GOP deficits. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A20059-2005Apr1.html

and continued by GHWB and junior have led to a ten-fold increase in the national debt in just 28 years all the while the treasury has been pilfered of trillions of dollars. Some fiscal conservatism indeed. :P

6. Reagan wasn't fiscally conservative.... |
|
He spent all that borrowed money on Guns, Tanks and Missiles to force the Soviet Union to either follow suit or get out of the superpower business...
