If Governor Charlie Crist runs for the U.S. Senate, Democrat Alex Sink, the state's Chief Financial Officer, will likely run for governor.

Contributors who attended the private fundraising meeting on Siesta Key said Sink told them she was planning to run for re-election to CFO in 2010, unless Crist runs for the Senate. If he does, Sink revealed to the nearly three dozen supporters on Wednesday that she will run for governor.

Sink, who is in Palm Beach County for a fundraiser today, expects Crist to announce his decision today or tomorrow.

"At this point all of Florida is waiting to hear what the governor's intentions are," Sink said after the fundraiser.
